A fireside chat with Minwoo Lee – Head of Product
Q: What did you do before joining Dodreams?
A: I’ve been a part of the games industry for almost 20 years, working in both design and product management. During my career I’ve shipped 3 AAA-games, 5 mobile games and 7 PC games for companies like Electronic Arts, Ubisoft, and Rovio Entertainment. Most recently, I worked at EA Helsinki as Creative Director.
Q: What do you do at Dodreams?
A: My job is to support the team in making great games, while simultaneously overseeing the company’s product roadmap and franchise strategy going forward. The most important part of my job is to ensure a goal-oriented development methodology, where the whole team understands the reasoning behind why we do what we do, and the trajectory that will put us on. In the end it’s all about contributing to making game franchises that players will love and play for years.
Q: When you’re not busy crafting amazing player experiences at work, what do you like to do?
A: I spend as much time as possible with my 8 year old daughter. We play a lot of video games together, and it’s also a lot of fun just watching her play mobile games. Other than that I like to read history books.
Q: What’s the coolest project you’ve worked on?
A: Before joining Dodreams I was fortunate to work on so many great games, the most popular probably being the Assassin’s Creed series. However, I would have to pick Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Phantoms as my favorite project overall, and SimCity BuildIt just for the amazingly talented people I got to work with.
Q: What kind of games do you want to make in the future?
A: I would like to work on games that have very deep economies with strong progression vectors, where our players can enjoy new live events and missions every day, thus becoming digital hobbies in themselves.
